Private Psychotherapy Practice in Jerusalem, Israel

I believe therapy is a journey in which the client-therapist relationship of trust is key. When seeking a therapist, it is the feeling of safety and being heard that are fundamental. This will enable you to work towards set goals, while reaching a deeper and clearer understanding of yourself.
Often described as thoughtful and insightful, my clients appreciate that I am easy to talk to and engage with. My professional, warm and empathic approach allows my clients to feel comfortable, accepted and understood. They find it easy to open up and share on topics that they have not been able to express to anyone else.

While I tailor my approach to the unique needs of each client, my practice is strongly grounded in Schema and DBT therapies.

Schema Therapy is a type of talk therapy that focuses on schemas.  Schemas are frameworks, or belief systems, through which people understand themselves and the world around them. The aim is to help the individual recognize their challenges, understand the underlying cause(s), and change their thoughts and behaviors so that they’re better able to cope with relationship challenges or emotions in healthy, productive ways.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a modified type of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Its main goals are to teach people how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, regulate their emotions, and improve their relationships with others.

About Me

I grew up near Boston and graduated from the University of Massachusetts. I moved to Israel over 20 years ago. After working for over a decade in the Yesod Program in Ohr Somayach, an open and supportive gap-year program for post high-school boys, I gained my MSW from Wurtzweiler School of Social Work – Yeshiva University. Alongside my private practice, I am a staff therapist in Machon Dvir, behavioral health clinic in Jerusalem, working with the Anglo population in Israel.

I live in Jerusalem with my family, where I enjoy outdoor activities, particularly hiking, and getting immersed in new art projects.

Areas of Expertise

My primary area of expertise is with young men 18+ who are dealing with any number of mental health struggles such as anxiety and depression, personality disorders or emotional regulation, addiction, daily struggles or questions of identity. I also work with men with relationship struggles, whether pre-marital, newly married or those contemplating or going through divorce.

I am fully accredited and licensed to work in Israel and clinically supervised.

A note to parents

When your child, is struggling, whatever their age or stage, it can be painful, difficult and confusing. When they are facing their challenges thousands of miles aways from home all these emotions are compounded. Whether this is your son’s first connection with a therapeutic professional, or whether this is a continuation of a therapeutic journey already established back home, it is important for both you and him to be confident with the care he is receiving throughout his period in Israel.
While I adhere to the strictest levels of professional guidelines on confidentiality, I believe that, where possible, open communication with a client’s existing support network, particularly his parents, can create the best atmosphere and environment for recovery/sustained progress.
With your son’s consent, I am here to answer questions you may have, provide periodic consultations and ensure that you are comfortable with the care provided. I will also support, if needed, a smooth handover to any therapist/professional on his return home.
